'Fragments'

4 worksThe title ‘Fragments’ emerged from a shared idea of collecting, when working with an interior designer. The Clients room reflected a lifetime of treasured objects, My own practice is built upon the accumulation of materials that carry their own histories. Antique papers, collage scraps, Japanese washi paper, Khadi paper, and charcoal and pastels inherited from my Aunt, all found their way into this work, carrying memories and meaning of their own.

6 works'Vessels’, which explores the connection between inner worlds…memories, emotions, and feelings, and the physical forms that hold them. I’ve been thinking about vessels as both real objects and metaphors for how we contain and carry what’s inside us. In these paintings, I’m trying to bring together that tension between holding on and letting go. Working on a larger scale has allowed me to paint more freely and physically, using big, expressive marks to capture emotion.

8 worksThis body of work has unfolded intuitively, led by colour, gesture, and feeling. ‘Sense of Place’ explores belonging through the inner landscapes we carry, formed by memories of family, moments of joy, personal struggles, and the shifting emotional terrain that shapes our sense of self. Through layered colour, gestural marks, and textured surfaces, the work reflects how memory accumulates and forms structure over time. Sense of Place is not about a single location, but about belonging.

10 worksIn ‘What Lies Beneath’, I explore the hidden landscapes of human experience—those emotions and stories we often keep beneath the surface. Through layered textures, contrasting light, and abstract forms, my work seeks to reveal the tension between concealment and expression, evoking the vast, often unseen emotional terrain within each of us. Using oil and cold wax, I build and scrape back layers to physically uncover what lies beneath, mirroring the unpredictable emergence of inner truths.

Each piece you see holds its own story: some have developed slowly over the past couple of years, while others came together quickly, in a burst of energy and emotion. The mood I’m in truly shapes the work, and I aim to translate that into something you can feel. These paintings are about fleeting moments, curiosity, exploration, and tapping into the layered and often chaotic nature of my subconscious.
